Fierce Battles and Friendship: Highlights from “Universiada-2024”

From February 11 to 13, Karshi State University hosted the final stage of the “Universiada-2024” national kurash championship. The competition brought together over 200 student-athletes from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, and various regions across Uzbekistan. Male participants competed in seven weight categories, while female athletes contended in eight. The championship was marked by intense matches, enthusiastic crowd support, and displays of exceptional skill and physical preparedness. In the team standings, Khorezm region secured first place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Kashkadarya region followed in second place with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals, while Syrdarya region claimed third place with 3 gold and 1 bronze. During the award ceremony, speakers highlighted the tournament’s significance—not only as a test of strength and skill but also as a means to foster unity and friendship among students. The winners and medalists were honored with certificates, medals, and valuable prizes.
