Karshi State University is one of the largest and most prominent universities in Uzbekistan, known for its global approach to education and research. The university operates as a multi-disciplinary institution within a multi-level educational system.

Currently, the university comprises 13 faculties and 45 departments, offering 65 undergraduate, 26 graduate, and 27 doctoral programs.

The 13 faculties include:

Karshi State University provides modern education to prepare specialists for various sectors of the economy. The university fosters an innovative environment that supports both students and faculty, aiming to develop modern education practices. It integrates unique Asian and global experiences to help students realize their potential and prepare for future challenges. In addition to gaining knowledge, the university offers students ample opportunities to apply their learning in practice. During their time at the university, students acquire both theoretical and practical skills. Beyond academics, Karshi State University ensures that students fully experience university life, organizing various sports competitions and engaging events throughout the year.

The university boasts 6 scientific councils, 1 research center, 9 scientific laboratories, and 25 educational laboratories.

The past year has been marked by significant progress in increasing scientific potential, introducing innovations, and achieving notable academic milestones. The university has successfully integrated advanced international practices into national experiences, applying them in education and research. In 2021, a network plan was developed to enhance departmental performance in scientific and innovative activities. Between 2021 and the present, 167 dissertations have been defended (compared to 18 in 2020), and 127 academic titles have been conferred (compared to 29 in 2020). As a result, the university's academic capacity has grown from 28.2% to 41.4%. Since 2021, 121 textbooks (compared to 3 in 2020), 357 study guides (compared to 12 in 2020), and 251 monographs (compared to 21 in 2020) have been published. Furthermore, the university has initiated the publication of scientific articles in journals indexed by Web of Science and Scopus, with 200 articles published since 2021.

Karshi State University actively participates in international educational programs. It has signed over 70 cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding with foreign educational institutions, working closely in both education and research.

The university is a member of several major international scientific and educational projects, including Erasmus+ and Erasmus Mundus. Currently, as part of the Erasmus+ Credit Mobility Project, Karshi State University has established cooperation agreements with Jaen University in Spain, Constantine the Philosopher University in Slovakia, and the University of Zielona Gora in Poland.

In line with Uzbekistan’s “Concept for the Development of Higher Education Until 2030,” the university’s Faculty of International Educational Programs collaborates with leading universities in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. Together, they offer 6 undergraduate programs and 4 graduate programs. These partnerships include Belgorod State National Research University, Moscow State Linguistic University, Privolzhsky Research Medical University, and Grodno State University. Currently, 220 undergraduate and 26 graduate students are enrolled in fields such as philology, biology, linguistics, general medicine, pediatrics, and applied mathematics. To ensure high-quality education in joint programs, 94 local and foreign professors and lecturers are involved in the undergraduate programs, while 56 faculty members teach in the graduate programs.
